Haute Route via Curwensville

Dan and I are in State College, Pa right now, getting ready to take a bus to New York where we will fly to London, and then France. We will be hiking the Haute Route Pyrenees , a high altitude trek across the length of the Pyrenees mountains in France, Spain and Andorra from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean. We’ll be hiking with 5 other friends over the next four or five weeks. It’s been over 100 degrees every day the last week in Las Cruces so we are very grateful to be in cooler climes for the next two months.

Here’s the route! You can follow our progress on this Delorme Mapshare page: https://share.delorme.com/SusanSingley

In the meantime, Dan got some last minute work done on his house and then we drove from Las Cruces to my parents house and store in Curwensville, Pa, and spent a week there helping plant gardens, bake pies and take care of customers. We visited Dan’s friend Lillis in Fayetteville, Arkansas, his brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew in western Tennessee, and his grandparents outside Nashville before heading to my parents’ place.

We got home just in time to send my brother Bob off on his Continental Divide Trail thru-hike! Bob has hiked the AT and the PCT and I’m so excited for his southbound CDT adventure. We love you! See you in New Mexico, Bob.

A week at Aletta’s Farm Market

Have a great summer and we will see you in August!
